THE AFRICAN EYE

THE AFRICAN EYE

In our indigenous world
In our precious country
Leaders move from place to place
Honourable cars hooting all over
Leaders to be in search of votes
Heavens they promise
But none they fulfill
What a uncourageous country to leave in?

Laptops for primary pupils
Free education to all
Yet the poor lack chances for education
No leader to give in their support
Poor roads for school going Africans
Floods dislocate people
Poverty our song, yet leaders we have

Strike!Strike! Strike!
Is the voice of the citizens
Patients die in hospital
Students hung around
Teachers on strike, doctors on strike
Is the news in our Media
What a pathetic nation we leave!

Corruption is the topic in the nation
Finance delivered for developments disappeared
Huge sum of money disappeared
Tax increased to pay debts of the country
Yet no jobs for the taxed citizens
Instead leaders advertise themselves
Already built institutions the claim they founded
Change is what we need

Together as one we stand
To fight corruption and any  unpleasing act
For the better future
And the good of the new generation
Leaders, consider the citizens
The government, enlighten every region
For peaceful and perfect nation
Together we  stand for change
