GROOVE AND WOES
You are my homie, take me to your home.
To graduate to gratitude, and see your homemakers.
To see your grass mares and your waivers.
I'm fed with being a stranger, In your heart.
I want to be known, to formalize, and be real.
I want my thin body, to get the authenticity.
Of your backyard, and aroma of the graze.
Take me home I request, to your elders
To make my intentions known, and know my in-laws
To benchmark with the elders, share ideas and a bottle of champagne 🍾
Should I first go to my knees, till you say "I Do"
It's you I see, you stole my heart dear
I want to graduate , to be of more value
To fully be part of you, and continue writing our story.
And to my instinct,I want to lay
Lay my foundation,bedrock that last
Buy my own stuff,do my own well
Whose water will never fade,
Plant my roses,to blossom everyday when you glance
Mould my pots, with my own clay,do my "kendo"
Tat will keep the ash warm, smear my wall with "owuoyo"
Never go crack,be it the weather..
I want to get used,to the environment to be...
To formalise and normalize
To know you as the palm of my hand
To feel the aroma of your presence in my home
Take me home and make me complete
To get an okey from them that raised you
And help me build our future as one
A supper home we build
For the joy of my life you are.
The sun is setting,I'm glad I got the stay,
I had located the market
And can get the "Aliya"to keep it burning,
To sandwich the "osuga"
And the blay polenta,
To gum the amazing togetherness
The happy man I am today
Beside me you shall remain
Our story together we write.
